Miss Nebraska USA – Mimi

Mimi Wood grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and spent most of her childhood competing in dance. She started dancing at age three and went on to win many National awards throughout her career.

Mimi attended the University of Nebraska where she studied Elementary Education and danced as a Husker Scarlet. There, she served as head of the technique and skills committee, the choreography committee, Captain, and was the first Husker Scarlet to earn First Team All-Big Ten.

Mimi’s primary goal is to make a difference in children’s lives through dance. To accomplish that, she founded her nonprofit, “Project Believe and Achieve” that helps children to unlock their full potential. Mimi is an advisory board member for the YMCA and uses her position to advocate for Nebraska’s youth. She’s continuing to expand her nonprofit and implement her program, Dance and Develop, into more youth support programs throughout Nebraska and the country.
